About
Rupert and Nicola
Hello, my name is Rupert AND in my haste to update the website, I accidentally deleted our ABOUT page! Lost everything, all the fabulous stuff about how we’ve come a long way to get here. How great we are at delivering really unique and bespoke sound sessions in our home studio, here in Exeter, Devon, UK.
So I apologise and can only say come back again sometime when you’ve booked a session and see if we have updated this page or not…
The photo was a selfie I took on a taxi boat on the River Avon in Bristol when we had a great day out the other weekend.
THERE IS NOTHING LIKE an hour before the end of the work day deciding to catch a 15 minute train ride to the nearest beach. Spontaneity being the order of the day.
It had been the warmest day of the year so far and it felt like the sand, sea and sunset were calling us. We called our friends who dropped everything and walked down to meet us at the station. We laughed and joked on the journey as to what we might find and being ravenously hungry, what we might like to order from the fish’n’chip shop.
Stood with boxes of chips on the sea wall, we watched the world go by, noticed the large boats on the horizon, the waves hitting black rocks below us sending the white spray high into the air. Shouts and laughter from holiday-makers, dodgems and the seagulls cruising in the air.
The cares of the day slipped away as the meditative sounds of the waves take over
On the sand, we found shells and odd shaped stones with quartz lines running through them. Worn down by the sea, over the centuries and way beyond our own short time we have spent on this earth.
Shoes and socks in hand we paddled, the frothing white line racing in, the shock of the cold sea trickling over our toes and feet, feeling ourselves becoming all the more grounded with each wave. The cares of the day slipped away as the meditative sound of the waves surround us.
I noticed the wavelengths of the sea like sound waves from our meditation sound sessions, ever growing. Gentle lines run crooked and surging, seeking out the path of least resistance. I felt at peace.
Before too long we were heading back to the station, the sun sinking down behind the hills and trees. Rooks returning to their nests as were the holiday-makers.
It’s worth, every now and again, finding a pause point to ground yourself. Be free from all the clutter going on in and around our lives. It’s like a reset.
Sound on.
I recorded some footage and randomly put it together.
This is a splendid photo of one our favourite trees.
IT STANDS IN ST THOMAS PLEASURE PARK. We have visited the tree for the last two years, on and off. When feeling on or off! When doubting everything, to the times we feel most centered and harmonious. It is always a surprise and a moment of wonder when the blossoms fully arrive. And yesterday the evening Sun fell on it too, so I just had to take a snapshot of it.
Do you have a most favourite tree?
It goes without saying we hug this tree and tell it our deepest thoughts. We celebrate it for its very being.
And finally it is the tree we told of the pending arrival of our first grandchild. Who was born a couple of years ago, late April.
So this is all about fighting off an imposter syndrome.
I was fooling around the other day filming and I edited it together on iMovie and after a while came up with this.
Two different clips that seemed to lock together. I rather like it. It loops well too.
